Banzai is an ancient and honourable sport of Japanese fencing.

C/Us of the special protective clothing worn by the fencers including a special helmet. C/U of the special gloves worn. M/S of Japanese man kneeling on the ground getting dressed in this special outfit. C/U of his face as he places a white cloth over his head. He then puts the helmet and gloves on, picks up his stick and stands ready to begin.

Two men in traditional costume then fight in a garden setting. We then see some of their lunges in slow motion. Closer view of the action.
